Refund Policy

At Sip & Serve, we strive to deliver an exceptional experience for your event. Because our business involves reserving specific dates, scheduling staff, and prepping resources in advance, our refund policy is structured as follows:

1. Change of Mind & Booking Cancellations

In accordance with New Zealand consumer law, we are not legally required to provide a refund if you simply change your mind or if your event circumstances change. However, we offer the following cancellation terms:

  • Cancellations 7 or More Days Prior: If you cancel your booking 7 or more days before your scheduled event, you will receive a full refund of your 50% deposit.

  • Cancellations Within 7 Days: Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable, and your 50% deposit will be forfeited to cover lost booking opportunities and administrative costs.

2. Rescheduling

  • Requests to change your event date must be made at least 7 days in advance and are subject to availability.

  • If we cannot accommodate your new date, or if you request to reschedule within 7 days of the event, it may be treated as a cancellation, and the deposit will be forfeited.

3. Drink Supply and Service Duration

Our service is booked for a fixed timeframe, but our drink calculations are based on the guest count provided by you. We do not offer partial refunds if your event wraps up early, if fewer guests attend than expected, or if you run out of client-supplied alcohol before the hire duration ends.

4. Staff Safety & Service Cessation

The safety of our bartenders is paramount. If our staff are forced to terminate service or leave an event early due to unsafe, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour from guests, no refund will be issued for the remaining service time.

5. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)

Our refund policy does not affect your statutory rights. Under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, if our services fail to meet a guarantee (e.g., if the service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill), we will work to remedy the issue promptly. If a failure is substantial and cannot be easily remedied, you are entitled to a cancellation of the service contract and a full or partial refund.

6. Processing Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method (bank transfer or invoice link) within [e.g., 5-7 business days].
